Greenville City Council Representative - District Four
Wil Brasington serves as the executive director of the Clemson Alumni Association, which provides constituency services, engagement opportunities, and communications to over 150,000 Clemson alumni around the world. In this capacity, he acts as the chief alumni officer of Clemson University and oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Association. He also manages the affairs of its 24-member board of directors. Brasington formerly served an assignment as special assistant to the Clemson University president, during which time he was responsible for developing initiatives and managing programs for the President's Office.
A graduate of both Leadership Greenville and Leadership South Carolina, Brasington previously served on the City of Greenville Planning Commission, chaired the Greenville Revitalization Corporation board of directors, and served as neighborhood representative to the City of Greenville's Residential Infill Task Force. He is a former member of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce board of directors, during which time he served as vice-chair of both Leadership Development and Communications and Community Engagement. The Chamber of Commerce recognized him with the Chairman's Award in 2017 for his contributions.
He is a past president of the Alta Vista Neighborhood Association, a former board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas and the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, and was recognized by Greenville Business Magazine as one of Greenville’s “Best and Brightest Under 35” in 2010.
Councilmember Brasington begin his term of service on Greenville City Council in December 2017, and serves on the Committee on Development and Finance and Committee on Public Safety and General Government committees.
A graduate and former student body president of Clemson University, Brasington is married to Laura, and they have two children, Elizabeth (9) and Wilson (6).
